Dead Air

So, I guess I have some explaining to do. My blogging duties have been sorely neglected since Christmas. This trend is going to continue as I am currently pregnant with my second child. YAY! FABULOUS! But not so much for Anomaly's blog.  For the next bunch of months I will only be using this space to announce sales and other newsworthy events. Once I have learned how to raise 2 kids I will be back with posts featuring tours of my studio, artists I love and all other things Anomaly.

I love it when hair of any species is incorporated in jewelry.  Using hair in jewelry has been a longstanding tradition and was very popular during Victorian times to memorialize the dead.

I stole a lock of my daughter's and husband's hair last year and made my own living memorial of them to wear myself.

In Progress

Here's what I'm up to in the studio these days. That pile of castings is the beginning of my production work for a sale I am having on Fab.com in October. I will let you know the details of the sale when it is closer to the sale itself. My dog, Pony, inserted himself in the photo shoot for today's blog post and he quickly took the spotlight.

I spent some time over the fourth making these one of a kind B.F.F. (best friends forever) bracelets for my daughter and myself.  They took forever to make and I relished every last minute. This is mostly because I rarely have time to lose myself in creating new things these days.  I am either taking care of my kid or doing production work for Anomaly Jewelry.  While I enjoy both of those things they are totally different tasks than making something new.  Here's a couple more shots of the bracelets.

Jolene Carley McClelland. She is the sole designer and maker behind VraiFaux jewelry. I found and fell in love with her jewels on Etsy. We started talking and made a date to meet up in NYC when she was here on business. Jewelers unite!  What a doll. And what a talent. Look at and buy her jewelry here.
